Simplicity

Simplicity.

I'm trying to keep this in mind as I continue to clean, purge, and organize my house.  Although we live in a culture of excess and waste, I am trying to reprogram my family's thinking about what we keep in our home.  

Too many toys! 

Too many coffee mugs! 

Too many cords and remotes for electronics we no longer have or use!  

I am trying to look at our belongings (and the time it takes to clean around all of our belongings) in a new way.  Would I move that to a nice new home? If not, get rid of it! 

Over the next week as we prepare for Thanksgiving, I am going to be mindful of all of the blessings I have and hopefully figure out a way to remove the excess from my home. Hopefully blessing others as I do so with the items that are still good and/or new!
