** Christmas Carol Snowflakes **

I seem to be drawn to three things this year when it comes to Christmas decorating: snowflakes, hymnal/sheet music, and teal.

I've created my first project using my new Silhouette Cameo.

I found some terrific images of old Christmas carol hymnal pages here and the images state that you can "use them freely in your art." They are beautiful just the way they are, but I wanted to change the colors for this project.

Next, I opened each image in Photoshop and applied a simple "Graphic Pen" filter with my foreground color set to a lovely teal/blue and my background color set to white. Instantly, I had a white/teal hymn page.
I love how they turned out before they were cut! Adorable! :)

Using my Cameo, I cut a variety of snowflakes in various sizes.

I randomly placed the snowflakes on the upper portion of a small wall that leads from the entry to the living room. The look better up close because you can catch words and phrases from the songs.

I was planning on stringing them up on floss or white thread to hang them.  However, I am what I call a "fast crafter" and didn't want to look for floss or thread. :)  So, I decided it would be quicker to just tape them on the wall.

If you don't have an electronic cutting tool, check out the websites for tutorials on making snowflakes:
