I grew up playing Scrabble and Boggle! I love word games. So, when I saw this giant yard scrabble game I knew I needed to make one.
I cut the official amount of each letter....all 98 of them...one night on my Silhouette. Then I used a heavy duty paper cutter to cut 100 7" x 7" tiles (2 for the blank tiles). With some heavy duty spray adhesive, the letters were quickly and easily attached. (Eventually I might add the points by hand with a marker.)
My husband found some large cardboard pieces, and I cut them down to size. There is writing on the back side of the squares. You could break down any boxes you have on hand and then cut out squares carefully with a metal ruler and utility knife. I happened to be able to use a very heavy duty paper cutter so I was able to cut them out very fast! :)
I don't know where to get a hold of any already cut pieces. You may find something at Hobby Lobby. Maybe some strong kitchen shears would do the trick!
What a great first word you made!! :) Thanks for the feature! I know you have had a blast!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you found such evenly cut out squares of cardboard?

DeleteDo you sell the cardboard pieces or know where I can get them? I don't have a paper cutter.
